Brandon Regan is in his first season as an assistant with the women's program after spending the previous six as an as assistant coach with the men’s soccer program. He earned his National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Diploma and is certified Level I, Level II, and goalkeeping coach.
Regan’s goalkeepers have posted 20 clean sheets in his five seasons in charge of the position. Brenden Alfery, a transfer from NCAA Division III Grove City College, made the 2015 NEC Tournament Team and signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the United Soccer League (USCL) following the campaign.
Regan spent the 2013 season as an assistant at Carnegie Mellon University. The Tartans finished the season ranked No. 18 in NCAA Division III after claiming a victory in the NCAA Tournament first round for the second consecutive year. In charge of the team’s keepers, Regan helped the team finish with the 26th best goals against average in the nation at 0.69 and post nine shutouts.
Prior to his stint at Carnegie Mellon, Regan spent three seasons as an assistant at Washington and Lee (Va.) University. The Generals posted a record of 27-16-9 during that time, reaching the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) semifinals in 2012.
A 2008 graduate of Wheeling Jesuit with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration, Regan played four years of collegiate soccer – first at Robert Morris and later at WJU. He helped lead RMU to a conference championship and NCAA Tournament berth in 2005 and finished his collegiate career as a captain and two-time all-conference selection for Wheeling Jesuit. He later played professionally in the Irish Premier League for Dungannon Swifts F.C. in 2008.
Regan is married to former RMU women’s soccer player Katie Kirkpatrick. They live in Sewickley, Pa.
