Michael Francus enters his first season as the goalkeeper coach for the Robert Morris University men's soccer program in 2026.
Francus arrives at RMU after serving as a graduate assistant at the University of Northwestern Ohio, where he was the head coach of the development team while also working as the goalkeeper coach for the varsity program. In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, he also serves as a goalkeeper coach with Century United, helping develop youth goalkeepers at one of the region's premier club programs.
Prior to beginning his coaching career, Francus was a four-year starting goalkeeper at Waynesburg University, where he logged more than 5,000 career minutes between the posts. He finished his career among the most accomplished goalkeepers in program history, setting the school record for saves in a single game with 14 while ranking second all-time in career saves (332), wins (21), shutouts (9) and single-season wins (10).
Francus earned a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science from Waynesburg University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at the University of Northwestern Ohio and is expected to complete his degree in the spring of 2027.
