The 2022 season marks the third year for Sara Pelegreen-Corey as an assistant coach with the RMU softball program.
Named an assistant coach in July of 2019, Pelegreen-Corey spent five years at NCAA Division II Wheeling Jesuit University from 2014-18, including the last three as head coach. In her tenure leading the Cardinals, Wheeling Jesuit made its first appearance in the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Tournament championship game in 2018 en route to an overall record of 27-24 (.529).
While serving as a graduate assistant coach at Wheeling Jesuit, Pelegreen-Corey helped WJU finished with overall record of 25-20 (.636) in 2016, a program single-season record for victories.
Overall during her tenure at Wheeling Jesuit, Pelegreen-Corey coached 15 All-MEC selections. She was also instrumental in the development of outfielder Molly Welsh, who was named the 2016 MEC Freshman of the Year, and pitcher Molly Chapman, who was a two-time D2 Conference Commissioner's Association Softball All-Atlantic Region Team member as well as a four-time All-MEC honoree.
Pelegreen-Corey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in communications and journalism from West Virginia State University in 2013.
