Selected as the Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Dec. 21, 2016, is freshman center Nneka Ezeigbo of the basketball team. A native of Ewing, N.J., Eziegbo tied a career high with 11 points in a 58-44 victory @ Morgan State (12/18/16) in RMU’s final non-conference game of the 2016-17 regular season. She also tallied three rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block in the triumph over the Bears and thanks to performance was named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie of the Week (12/19/16). In 11 games this season, including eight starting assignments, Ezeigbo has provided the Colonials with averages of 6.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest while leading Robert Morris in blocks with 12.Â
