Graduate attack Jimmy Perkins of the lacrosse team has been named the Chick-Fil-A Robinson RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for March 24, 2021. In a 14-12 setback to defending national champion and No. 9 Virginia (3/20), the Colonials almost pulled the upset behind the play of Perkins, who finished with a team-high seven points. Perkins, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., posted a hat trick and four assists, eclipsing 100 points in an RMU uniform with his first assist of the contest. He is the 17th student-athlete in program history to reach the plateau, and he is four goals short of 100 for his NCAA career. Perkins scored his hat trick in the second half, scoring twice in the final minutes. Studying for a master’s degree, Perkins owns a 3.78 cumulative grade point (GPA) average.
