Moon Township, Pa. - The Robert Morris University volleyball team defeated Siena, 3-0, Sunday morning to close out the Central Michigan Tournament. With the victory, the Colonials improve their record to 2-1 on the season.
All-tournament selection Emily Wolthuis (Byron Center, Mich. / South Christian) tallied a match high 14 kills, along with eight digs, one assist, one service ace and one block assist. Sophomore Jessy Nelko (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) finished with 12 kills, while Jennifer Stambaugh (Union Bridge, Md. / Francis Scott Key) and Amanda Graham (Melbourne, Fla. / Eau Gallie) each recorded 10 kills.
Joining Wolthuis on the all-tournament squad is Tawnya Storino (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin). Storino tallied 45 assists and eight digs. Junior Alaina Gibson (Muncie, Ind. / Muncie Burris) recorded a team high 12 digs.
The Colonials return to action next weekend as they co-host the Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational on Aug. 31-Sept. 1. The Colonials open the tournament on Friday, August 31 against Bucknell at 7:00 p.m.
