University Park, Pa. ? Feb. 1, 2009 ? The Robert Morris University women's track and field team was highlighted by juniors Melitta Brown (York, Ontario / Sacred Heart) and Erica Schmidt (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin) this weekend at the Penn State National Open.
Brown tied for ninth-place in the triple jump with a leap of 38'1.25” and earned another top finish in the long jump with a mark of 18'00.50” for the 15th spot.
Schmidt tied her personal best mark of 10'6” in the pole vault, earning the height for the second week in a row.
The Colonials travel to Marietta, Ohio on Friday, Feb. 6 to compete in the Marietta, Ohio.
