No. 20 Robert Morris Earns First National Ranking

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Robert Morris University men's ice hockey team earned its first national ranking Monday as InsideCollegeHockey.com ranked the Colonials the 20th best team in the country.

The 4-0-0 start rates as the best in school history and ranks tied as the longest winning streak in the nation.  The Colonials rallied from two goals down Sunday to knock off Air Force to open the season a perfect 3-0-0 in conference play. The four-game winning streak is the longest since the Colonials won four in a row last season from Jan. 8- Jan. 16. That streak was highlighted with two wins against then-No. 1 Miami (Ohio). Robert Morris' longest winning streak in school history is five games set Jan. 29 - Feb. 10, 2007. Goalie Brooks Ostergard (Chagrin Falls, Ohio / Bay State Breakers) stands as just one of two goalie nationally with a perfect 4-0-0 record and earned Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week honors.

Robert Morris returns to action at 7:05 p.m. Friday Oct. 29 against defending Atlantic Hockey Champion RIT in Rochester N.Y. The following night, Oct. 30, the Colonials will take on conference rival and fellow AHA newcomer Niagara.
