Robert Morris Skates to a 2-2 Tie Against Army

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Robert Morris University men's ice hockey team picked up a point in the Atlantic Hockey Association standings earning a tie against Army, 2-2, at Tate Rink.

The Colonials (14-8-3, 9-6-3) ran out to a two goal lead against the Black Knights (7-12-3, 6-8-3) but Army rallied to earn a tie. Denny Urban (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Ohio Blue Jackets) picked two assists and become the first RMU defenseman to reach the 100 points.

"We were unable to sustain the energy we started off the game with as we allowed Army to take control of the second half of the game, " head men's ice hockey coach Derek Schooley said. "We need to play a more complete game or you get what you desserve and we didd tonight. We did not deserve anything more than what we got."

Adam Brace (Cobden, Ontario / Canisius College) scored his fifth goal of the season Saturday at the 7:05 mark of the first period to give RMU the early lead. Eric Levine (Wheeling, Ill. / Pembroke Lumber Kings) picked up 10 saves in the first frame en route to 29 stops for the night.

Andrew Blazek (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Topeka Roadrunners) made it a two-score game after netting his second goal of the season at the 4:30 mark of the second period. Army battled back in the second as Mike Hulll found the net with an even-strength goal at the 6:55 mark of the second frame. Danny Colvin tied the game with a power-play goal at the 11:46 of the second period.

Colvin's goal was the final of the game as the team's skated to a scoreless third period and overtime. Robert Morris went 0-of-5 on the power play with going 5-of-6 on the penalty kill.

Game Notes

Denny Urban back the first Robert Morris defenseman to reach 100 career point Saturday. He is just the third player in RMU history to crack the 100 point mark.

Urban also broke his own school record for points in a season by defenseman Saturday.

Robert Morris has won a conference road game since Nov. 5 against Holy Cross
