Urban Named Third Team All-American

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Denny Urban (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Ohio Blue Jackets) of the Robert Morris University men's ice hockey picked up third team All-American honors from TheCollegeHockeyBlog.com  after posting the second best points per game total by a defenseman this season.

Urban also earned the Robert Morris team honor as the squad's Most Valuable Player while picking up Atlantic Hockey Association Defenseman of the Year. Urban posted one of the best overall seasons ever by a Robert Morris defenseman. He passed out a school record 32 assists, set a school record in plus/minus with a +14, while breaking his own school record for points in a season by a defenseman with 40.

The Pittsburgh, Pa. native was named to the All-AHA First Team. He ranked as one of three defensemen in the nation to rack up 40 points while ranking second in the nation in points per game by a defenseman. Urban finished his Robert Morris career third in RMU history in total points and sits as the only Colonial defenseman ever to reach 100 career points.

Urban's 40 points ranks as the fourth best by a defenseman in the past five years of NCAA Division I Hockey and his points per game mark of 1.14 is second best in past the five years among defenseman. He finished his career second among active NCAA Division I defenseman in career points. The Colonials' assistant captain ranks tied for 29th nationally in points per game.
