University Park, Pa. - The Robert Morris University women's cross country team continued its 2012 campaign Friday afternoon by placing 25th out of 31 institutions at the 2012 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals, which were held on the campus of Penn State University.
RMU finished with 694 points, with the host Nittany Lions claiming the team championship thanks to a point total of 61. Georgetown (63), Villanova (96), Princeton (101) and West Virginia (111) rounded out the top five.
Sophomore Marissa Polk (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Oakland Catholic) paced the Colonials by finishing 88th out of 205 harriers thanks to a time of 22:49 in the six-kilometer course.
Winning the individual title was Nicky Akande of Villanova, who posted a time of 20:14.
Junior Lindsay Erath (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) also finished in the top 100 by navigating the course in a time of 22:55 to claim 95th.
Zielinski finished 163rd with a time of 24:12, while Domis crossed the finish line with a time of 24:25 to earn 171st place.
Posting a time of 24:42 was good enough to allow Kozubal to finish 177th, and she was followed by Lewis at 180 (24:49) and Ebersole at 189 (25:14).
Robert Morris closes out its 2012 campaign by taking part in the IC4A/ECAC Championships Saturday, Nov. 17, in New York, N.Y.
