PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Jan. 25, 2012 – The Robert Morris men's ice hockey team fell 3-0 to Atlantic Hockey regular season champs Air Force on Saturday night in front of a record crowd of 1,403 at the Clearview Arena.

The Colonials (15-14-5 overall, 13-9-5 Atlantic Hockey) and the Falcons skated evenly through the first period as both teams had quality chances at each end of the ice.  In the period, Robert Morris outshot Air Force 12 to 9. With the Colonials on the penalty kill to start the second period, Air Force scored the first goal of the games as Scott Holm finished a break-out play for the Falcons.  Air Force would double their lead as John Kruse put home a rebound goal with less than a minute remaining in the second period.

Air Force would put the Colonials away in the third period as Scott Mathis put home a deflected pass behind senior netminder Brooks Ostergard (Chagrin Falls, Ohio / Bay State Breakers).  The game would end minutes later as Jason Torf picked up the shutout. Ostergard would end the night with 31 saves while his counterpart stopped all 24 Robert Morris shots.  Freshman Cody Wydo (Allen Park, Mich. / Motor City Metal Jackets) led the Colonials with three shots on goal.  On the defensive side, eleven Colonials contributed to a team total of seventeen blocked shots on the evening.  Robert Morris ended the game 0-for-3 on the power play after scoring with the man advantage in three-straight games.
