MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. / April 5, 2012– Courtney Sicinski tallied a game-high four goals as the Robert Morris women's lacrosse
team fell 10-9 in double overtime to Northeast Conference rival Sacred Heart on
Thursday afternoon at Joe Walton Stadium.
In a game highlighted by five lead changes, Robert
Morris (4-8 overall, 2-2 NEC) suffered its first loss since the NEC opener on
March 23 to one of the top offenses in the league. Sicinski (Downingtown, Pa. /
Downingtown West) erased a 1-0 hole in the opening minutes of the contest
before spreading three more goals over the extended event. Kristin Yoviene
(Easton, Md. / Saints Peter and Paul) tallied two goals in the loss while Emma Baukhages (Gambrills, Md. / Indian Creek), MacKenzie Lawler (Okemos, Mich. /
Okemos) and Rachel Engel (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Upper St. Clair) each contributed a
goal and an assist.
Taylor Babin led the Pioneers (4-7, 3-2) with three
goals while also assisting on Emily Pepe's overtime game winner. The deciding
goal came 1:47 into the second overtime session after neither side could find
the net in the first overtime session of six minutes.
Kaitlin Pentz (Sykesville, Md. / Century) made
seven saves in the loss for Robert Morris including the only two saves of
overtime while Kelly Keenan made nine saves in goal for Sacred Heart.
Robert Morris closes out its current home stand on
Saturday at 11 a.m. against Quinnipiac.
