Bonnies Strike Twice In First Half to Sink RMU

St. Bonaventure, N.Y. / McGraw-Jennings Field — St. Bonaventure scored two first half goals en route to a 2-0 shutout victory against Robert Morris University in a women's soccer game Monday afternoon.  The Colonials slip to 4-5-1 after their sixth consecutive road game while the Bonnies move to 3-6-1 overall.
 
Molly Curry ran onto a long through-ball from Stephanie Jenkins, chipping her shot past sophomore keeper Chelsea de Jager (Grimsby, Ontario / Governor Simcoe) to give the home standing Bonnies the lead in the seventh minute. Alyssa Lapp found the back of the net after a scramble in the box that was set up by a cross from Abby Maiello in the 18th minute.
 
de Jager played all 90 minutes making one save and allowing two goals. RMU out shot SBU, 10-7. Christina Sarokon had four saves to record the shutout.
 
Robert Morris open Northeast Conference play Friday, Sept. 4, at Central Connecticut State. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
