About Robert Morris
- Robert Morris starts a six-game homestand with a pair of contests against American International that starts on Friday, January 17.
- Last weekend, RMU concluded its four-game road trip with a with a series split against Connecticut, losing 5-1 before winning 6-1 the following day, to earn six of a possible eight points on the road trip.
- Entering the weekend with a record of 5-13-2, the Colonials hold a conference record of 5-6-2 which places them in sole possession of seventh place in Atlantic Hockey.
- Sophomore forward Zac Lynch leads the Colonials with 12 assists while junior forward Cody Wydo leads Robert Morris with 14 goals and the duo share the team lead with 21 points.
- Sophomore goaltender Terry Shafer has played in 18 of Robert Morris' 20 games this season, earning a record of 5-11-2 with a 3.18 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.

Against American International
- Robert Morris and American International met for a two-game series in Massachusetts during the 2012-13 season in which the teams each won a game, AIC winning 4-1 before RMU claimed the second game by a score of 5-4.
- RMU started the series between the two teams with a seven-game unbeaten streak that lasted from Jan. 2008 until Nov. 2011; since then the two teams have split the six most recent meetings.
- The Colonials hold a 4-2-1 record against American International at the 84 Lumber Arena.
- Robert Morris has averaged 4.15 goals per game against AIC, while allowing 2.69 goals per game.

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
- American International currently sits in ninth place in Atlantic Hockey with a conference record of 5-8-0 to go with an overall record of 6-14-0.
- In its most recent game, AIC defeated Massachusetts by a score of 3-2; in league play, the Yellow Jackets recently split a weekend series with Niagara, winning by a score of 6-2 and losing by a score of 5-0.
- Junior forward Alexander MacMillan leads American International with ten goals and 19 points while freshman forward David Norris has a team-high 15 assists.
- Freshman Hunter Leisner has played in 12 of AIC's 20 games this season for a record of 4-7-0 with a goals-against average of 3.75 and a .902 save percentage.

Cody for Hobey
Junior forward Cody Wydo is the lone representative for Robert Morris on this year's Hobey Baker Award ballot.  Fans are able to vote for Wydo on the Hobey Baker website - hobeybaker.com - daily until March 9.

Winning with the Penalty Kill
In victories this season, Robert Morris' penalty kill has allowed just one goal while successfully killing 94.4 (17/18) percent of the penalties committed.  In losses, the Colonials' penalty kill operating at 65.0 percent (39/60).
Teaming Up with Jacklin and Wydo
Scott Jacklin and Cody Wydo make two-thirds of a line, but it does not matter who joins them to finalize the trio.  When Jacklin and Wydo have been paired together on a line, their grouping has combined for 18 goals and 18 assists for 36 points in 14 games.  The duo has been paired together for each of the Colonials' five wins this season.  Their most common linemate has been Zac Lynch who has skated in eight games with them.

In It for the Long Haul
Returning from the holiday break, Robert Morris kicked off ten consecutive weeks of competition with the Three Rivers Classic.  Over the ten weeks, the Colonials will play 20 games, nine of which will be on the road with the remaining 11 contests at home.  So far, RMU has a record of 3-3-0 in these games.

Guarding an Empty Net
RMU is one of just seven teams in the NCAA yet to allow an empty net goal this season.  Of the seven teams, the Colonials have spent the most time with an extra attacker on the ice, over 17 minutes and are one of just two schools with over ten minutes of extra-attacker time.

Assisting the Team
Prior to the beginning of the season, head coach Derek Schooley announced that the Assistant Captain honors would be awarded on a monthly basis.  For the month of October, senior defenseman Evan Renwick held the honor before is was passed along to the current assistant, junior forward David Rigatti for the month of November.  Rigatti kept the honor for the month of December as junior forward Cody Wydo joined him in wearing the 'A'.  Both Rigatti and Wydo were named full-time assistants starting in January.

Shutting the Door in the Third
Colonial netminders have performed their collective best in the third period this season.  The trio has put up a 2.40 goals-against average to go along with a .927 save percentage, the best marks of any period.

Creating a Robert Morris Victory
All five Robert Morris victories this season have come when the Colonials have scored first, have not trailed at the end of any period, held their opponents to under four goals, and recorded at least 30 shots while outshooting their opponent.

Surviving the Second Period
The second period has been a period of nightmares for Robert Morris this season.  RMU goaltenders have recorded a 4.65 goals-against average and an .882 save percentage. The Colonials have been outscored, 31-16, in the period despite the goaltenders making 227 saves, the highest total of any period.

Making the Grade
With the fall semester concluded, all 26 student-athletes on the roster earned at least a 3.00 grade-point average, including three players with a perfect 4.00 GPA.  The team's cumulative 3.68 GPA was the highest of any semester in the ten-year history of the program.
