Pittsburgh, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University volleyball team saw its six-match winning streak snapped this evening as the Colonials fell to Duquesne University in four sets from the A.J. Palumbo Center.
Robert Morris (7-14, 5-0 NEC) hit over .200 for the sixth time this season, but Duquesne (10-9, 3-3 Atlantic 10) was more efficient offensively, hitting at a .354 clip.

Arden Fisher collected the 18th double-double of her career with 13 kills and 12 digs. Senior outside hitter
Erica Robb added 11 kills for the Colonials on a .400 hitting percentage.

Melissa Bograd led the team with 18 digs, while classmate
Alena Esposito registered a team-high five block assists on the evening.
The Dukes took the first set, 25-20. Esposito picked up three of her five block assists in the frame, while junior middle blocker
Kristin Thompson tallied three kills for RMU.
Despite both Thompson (.500) and Robb (.429) hitting over .400 in the second stanza, Duquesne won the set, 25-16.
The Colonials avoided a sweep in the third set with a 27-25 victory. A back-and-forth affair for most of the frame, RMU used 16 combined kills from Fisher (7), Robb (5), and sophomore middle blocker
April Krivoniak (4) to force a fourth game.
The Dukes sealed things with a 25-19 victory in the fourth set. Bograd collected eight of her 18 digs in the stanza.
The six consecutive victories from Sept. 27 to Oct. 11 matches the Colonials' longest winning streak under
Dale Starr. The previous stretch came in 2010 from Oct. 30 to Nov. 10.
Robert Morris returns home for Northeast Conference (NEC) play this weekend as it hosts St. Francis Brooklyn and LIU Brooklyn. Opening serve for Saturday, Oct. 18's match against the Bulldogs is set for 3:00 p.m. from the Charles L. Sewall Center.
