About Robert Morris
- With just two weeks remaining in the regular season, Robert Morris will have two home-and-home series to close out its schedule, including a series against Canisius on Friday, Feb. 22 and Saturday, Feb. 23.
- Last weekend, RMU split a two-game series against Niagara, losing 5-3 on Thursday before winning 5-0 on Saturday.
- Entering the series against Canisius with a record of 12-14-4, the Colonials hold a conference record of 12-7-4 which places them in fifth place in the AHA.
- Junior forward Cody Wydo leads Robert Morris with 21 goals and 37 points in 30 games played.
- Sophomore forward Zac Lynch paces Robert Morris with 17 assists during the 2013/14 campaign.

Against Canisius
- Robert Morris and Canisius have already played once this season, a 6-1 RMU victory on Nov. 8 at 84 Lumber Arena.
- The Colonials hold a 9-5-1 advantage in the all-time series against the Golden Griffins and have won four straight games along with seven of the previous eight contests.
- The two teams first met in the 2004-05 season when Canisius was the first opponent in RMU's Division I history, a game the the Colonials would win, 3-1.
- Robert Morris holds a 5-2-0 advantage at 84 Lumber Arena, last losing at home to the Golden Griffins on Oct. 9, 2005.
- On the road, the Colonials are 4-3-1 against Canisius.
- Junior forward Cody Wydo has a team-high nine goals against the Golden Griffins in seven career games against Canisius.
- Sophomore goaltender Terry Shafer has played in two games against Canisius, going 2-0-0 with a 0.50 goals-against average and a .981 save percentage.  Shafer recorded his first career shutout in a game against the Golden Griffins on Nov. 9, 2012 at Canisius in a 4-0 victory.

Scouting the Golden Griffins
- Canisius currently sits in seventh place in Atlantic Hockey, just five points behind Robert Morris, with a conference record of 10-10-3 and an overall record of 11-16-3.
- In its most recent series, the Golden Griffins went up against Air Force, splitting the two-game series with a 4-0 win before suffering a 4-2 loss.
- Senior forward Kyle Gibbons leads Canisius with 13 goals and 29 points in 30 games this season.
- Senior defenseman Ben Danford has a team-leading 17 assists for the Golden Griffins during the 2013/14 campaign.
- Senior goaltender Keegan Asmundson has started 20 of Canisius' 30 games this season for a record of 7-10-2 with a 3.07 goals-against average and an .907 save percentage.

Having Capobianco's Number
In the seven games that Robert Morris has faced Canisius netminder Tony Capobianco, the Colonials have won five of the seven contests, including the last four matches.  Capobianco has been pulled in three of the previous four meetings between the two teams.  In those seven games, Capobianco has a 4.17 goals-against average and a .869 save percentage.

Three Weeks in a Row
Sophomore goaltender Terry Shafer earned the AHA Goaltender of the Week award for the third-consecutive week after allowing four goals in the two-game series against Niagara while recording his third-career shutout last week.  In the three weeks that Shafer has earned the recognition, he has a 4-1-1 record with two shutouts to go along with a 1.81 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage.
Scoring in the New Year
Since 2014 began, RMU has scored 53 goals in 14 games, the second-highest goal total in the NCAA during that timeframe.  The Colonials trail Boston College by just three goals for the top spot.

Shafer Winning in 2014
In 2014, sophomore goaltender Terry Shafer leads the NCAA with ten victories.  Shafer holds a 10-2-2 record with a 1.96 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage in the second half of the season.

Searching for a First-Round Bye
Currently sitting in fifth place after last week's series split with Niagara, Robert Morris remains in the hunt for a first-round bye in the 2014 Atlantic Hockey Playoffs, an achievement that is given to the top-four teams after regular season play.  With 28 points, the Colonials are one point behind Air Force and Connecticut for the final first-round bye.

Winning with the Penalty Kill
In its 12 victories this season, Robert Morris has allowed just four power-play goals to its opponents.  The Colonials have killed off 45 of the 49 (91.8 percent) penalties they have committed, ranking RMU 11th in the NCAA.

Teaming Up with Jacklin and Wydo
Scott Jacklin and Cody Wydo make two-thirds of a line, but it does not matter who joins them to finalize the trio.  When Jacklin and Wydo have been paired together on a line, their grouping has combined for 36 goals and 37 assists for 73 points in 24 games.  The duo has been paired together for each of the Colonials' 12 wins this season.  Their most common linemate has been Zac Lynch who has skated in 18 games with them.

Under Fire
Sophomore goaltender Terry Shafer has seen 805 shots this season, ranking the netminder fourth in the NCAA and third in the AHA.  Shafer's 805 saves this season  put the RMU goaltender fifth in the nation and third in Atlantic Hockey.

In it for the Long Haul
Returning from the holiday break, Robert Morris kicked off ten consecutive weeks of competition with the Three Rivers Classic.  Over the ten weeks, the Colonials will play 20 games, nine of which will be on the road with the remaining 11 contests at home.  So far, RMU has a record of 10-4-2 in these games.

Wydo's Streak
Junior forward Cody Wydo currently holds a seven-game point streak.  Wydo has scored six goals while recording eight assists for a total of 14 points in his seven previous games.
