Colonials Host West Virginia in Home Opener

Robert Morris and West Virginia meet for the fifth straight season

Against the Mountaineers - Robert Morris is 4-11 in its history against West Virginia. This is the fifth straight season in which the Colonials and Mountaineers will meet. RMU's most recent win against WVU is from 2012, when it knocked off the Mountaineers in a five-set thriller. The Colonials dropped a 2-0 lead in that match, but prevailed in the final set, 15-13.

Scouting West Virginia - West Virginia enters this match at 2-1, with all of its matches being played in the Gold & Blue Player's Challenge. The Mountaineers dropped their opener to No. 9 BYU in straight sets, but rebounded to sweep Toledo and IUPUI. Sophomore outside hitter Jordan Anderson has collected 50 kills on the season, while senior Evyn McCoy and junior Nikki Attea have combined to block 23 attacks.

Looking Ahead - Robert Morris continues its homestand this weekend as the Colonials will co-host the annual Duquesne / Robert Morris Invitational. Four matches will take place at the Charles L. Sewall Center, including three that feature the Colonials. RMU will open up the invitational on Sept. 5 with Indiana State at 11:00 a.m., and end its first day at 7:00 p.m. by taking on Youngstown State. The Colonials complete the invitational the following day when they play at 1:00 p.m. against UMass Lowell.
