Niagara University, N.Y. – The
Robert Morris University women's soccer team lost to Niagara University, 1-0, in the second leg of a three-game road trip Thursday afternoon. The Colonials slip to 1-6-1 overall while the Purple Eagles improve to 4-1-2.
Robert Morris matched Niagara shot for shot and put more attempts on net, four, than their host, two. The Purple Eagles tallied the game's only goal via a lucky bounce. Haillie Price's attempted cross was deflected by a Colonial defender and careered into the corner of the net in the 50th minute.
Kristie Hamilton had three shots for the Colonials putting two of those on net. Niagara keeper Claire Feiertag was up to task, however, making four saves for the clean sheet. Senior
Becky Schoenecker earned the start in net for RMU, stopping one shot while allowing the one goal.
The Colonials remain in the greater-Buffalo metropolitan area for a 1:00 p.m. game at Canisius Sat., Sept. 20.
