Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Colonials Dominate Everywhere But Scoreboard vs. Bryant

Moon Township, Pa.—The Robert Morris University women's soccer team dominated nearly every facet of play Sunday afternoon, but it was Bryant who was able to find the back of the net in overtime and secure a 1-0 win in a Northeast Conference game at North Athletic Complex. The loss snaps a three-game win streak for the Colonials who are now 5-8-0 on the season and even their NEC mark at 1-1. Bryant improves to 4-9-1 and 3-1-0 in league games.

The Colonials controlled play from the opening kickoff. RMU rattled off six shots and nearly got on the board in the 12th minute as a sinking shot from Kristie Hamilton was corralled by Kaylan Conrad. It would take nearly 26 minutes for the Bulldogs to register a shot and RMU held an 11-2 advantage in shots in the half.

The Bulldogs defensive style continued to thwart Robert Morris in the second half and neither team had a quality chance. The game went to overtime with the Colonials taking an 18-7 lead in shots, but the game remained scoreless.

In overtime, both teams had chances from range, but Bryant finally capitalized in the 98th minute. Taking a ball out of central midfield, Alison Guilmette turned over left shoulder and carried down the right wing. She made just enough space to take a shot from 25 yards that floated high over RMU keeper Chelsea de Jager and found the far left side netting for the game's only score. It was the first goal of the season for Guilmette.

Conrad finished with seven saves for Bryant.

Robert Morris starts a four-game road trip Friday, Oct. 16, when it returns to Staten Island to make-up its game against Wagner that was rained out last weekend. Kick-off is slated for 2:00 p.m.
