April Krivoniak's double-double helped the
Robert Morris University volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-18) Northeast Conference (NEC) victory over St. Francis Brooklyn Sunday afternoon in the Sewall Center.
With the win the Colonials (13-12, 7-3) clinched their 17
th consecutive NEC Tournament berth, which extends the league's longest active streak.
Krivoniak recorded her third double-double of the season with 10 kills on a team-leading .529 hitting percentage, a season best for the junior, and 13 digs. Freshman
Taylor Lord tabbed her second consecutive double-digit kill effort with 13 at a career-best .478 clip. Junior
Leah Dunivan stood tall at the net with five total blocks, and junior
Arden Fisher anchored the back row defense with 14 digs.
The Terriers (5-22, 2-9) challenged the Colonials in set two and went on a 4-0 run with solid serving from Saleesha Matthews to tie the set score at 13. St. Francis Brooklyn continued to push points all the way to a 17-14 lead, which forced Robert Morris to call a timeout. After the break, the Terriers committed two consecutive errors, but remained ahead. Down 20-22, the Colonials' attack came alive as RMU posted four-straight kills, three from Lord, to close out the set, 25-22.
After the intermission, the home team opened the third set on a 6-2 run and led by as many as 10 points in the final frame. The Terriers managed to cut the deficit to six late in the third, but committed two consecutive errors that put the Colonials in match-point position.
Next up, the Colonials hit the road for their final two away matches of the season at Sacred Heart on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. and Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m.

RMU qualified for its 17
th consecutive NEC Tournament with today's win, extending the conference's longest active streak. In the past 16 seasons, the Colonials have posted a winning record in league play and are on pace to do so this season with two of their four remaining matches to be played against teams the Colonials have already defeated this season.
