Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University volleyball team capped the regular season with a 3-1 victory, their fifth straight win, over Central Connecticut State University in the Sewall Center Sunday afternoon. Now it's on to the Northeast Conference Tournament, which will be hosted at LIU Brooklyn.
The Colonials (17-12, 11-3 NEC) end the 2015 regular season slate on a season-best five-match winning streak and a second place finish in the league standings. The Blue Devils (11-16, 3-11) closed the 2015 campaign on a three-match losing skid.
It was a fitting finish for lone senior
Kristin Thompson in her final appearance at the Sewall Center. The four-year two-way threat for the Colonials paced Robert Morris with 17 kills at a .500 clip and posted four total blocks, including one solo stuff.

April Krivoniak tabbed her 10
th career double-double with 14 kills and 12 digs. Freshman
Taylor Lord tallied her seventh career and fourth consecutive double-double with 10 kills and 17 digs. Junior
Leah Dunivan added 12 kills on .455 hitting and paced the Robert Morris block with five. Junior
Arden Fisher anchored the back row defense and set a new career high with 36 digs. Sophomore setter
Brianna Frakes directed the offense with 49 of a team season-high 66 total assists.
After splitting sets one and two with the Blue Devils, the Colonials found themselves down 18-21 in a pivotal set three. Back-to-back kills from Thompson knotted the score at 22, and the teams traded points the rest of the way until another kill from Thompson set up set point, 24-23. Fisher closed the frame with a kill to push RMU back in front of CCSU in the match score, 2-1.
The Colonials opened set four on a 6-1 run and dominated the set the rest of the way. RMU earned 15 of 25 points in the final set off kills and committed a match-best four errors in the frame, while the Blue Devils' attack fell victim to a match-high seven errors in set four.
Robert Morris will now prepare for their 17
th consecutive appearance in the NEC Tournament, which will be held at LIU Brooklyn in New York.

Kristin Thompson closed out her career with a team-leading 17 kills in today's match and a career-high six digs in yesterday's victory over Bryant. She closes her four-year campaign with the Colonials ranked in the top 10 in individual career solo blocks, block assists, total blocks and blocks per set.

Taylor Lord has recorded five double-doubles in six matches and has posted double-digit kills in her last six outings.

For the fifth time in six seasons under head coach
Dale Starr, the Robert Morris Colonials have earned 10 or more wins in conference action. Starr has led the Colonials to six consecutive winning records in Northeast Conference action, the longest such streak of any NEC member, past or present.
NEC Tournament Rundown
Robert Morris enters its 17
th consecutive NEC Tournament as the No. 2 seed for the 4
th time in the last six seasons. No. 1 seed LIU Brooklyn will host the tournament. The Colonials are 5-0 in matches played in New York this season. The NEC Tournament opens with the semifinal round on Saturday, Nov. 21. The final match will be played on Sunday, Nov. 22.
