Dale Starr earned his 100
th win as head coach of the
Robert Morris University volleyball team, when the Colonials topped the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers, 3-1, Saturday evening in the Sewall Center.
Senior
Arden Fisher recorded her 16
th double-double of the season on 18 kills and 16 digs to lead the Colonials in both categories. Junior outside hitter
Deja Tamlin tabbed nine kills and two block assists. Sophomore
Taylor Lord posted 11 digs and a career-high four service aces. Senior
April Krivoniak turned in double-digit digs with 12 and added eight kills.
Robert Morris (8-12, 2-3 NEC) and St. Francis Brooklyn (6-14, 1-3 NEC) went point for point to open the fourth set. The Colonials finally gained an edge from back-to-back kills by Fisher and sophomore
Brianna Schmid to pull ahead by four, 11-7. The Terriers managed to tie it up at 14, but consecutive kills from Fisher put the Colonials back in control and up by two. St. Francis Brooklyn knotted the score once more on a service ace to make it 16-16, but RMU rebounded with a 5-1 run, sparked by three straight kills from Lord, to take a 23-19 lead. Robert Morris eventually captured the set, 25-22, and the match, 3-1.
The Colonials opened set three on a 4-0 streak and started to settle into their game with the match tied, 1-1. RMU went up by six on an ace from Schmid, which forced St. Francis Brooklyn to call timeout as they trailed, 19-13. The Colonials captured six of the final eight points of the set to go up, 2-1, in the match.
After dropping the first set to the Terriers, the Colonials found their rhythm in the middle of the second frame, when they jumped out to a 12-6 lead. St. Francis Brooklyn cut the RMU advantage to three at 13-10, but Robert Morris remained comfortably in front of the score the rest of the way to tie the match.
The Colonials return to the Sewall Center on Sunday, Oct. 9 to host LIU Brooklyn at 5 p.m.

Dale Starr's 100th victory as head coach of the Robert Morris volleyball program. He is now four victories shy of his 200
th career win at the Division I level.

Arden Fisher has posted a double-double in 16 of 19 matches played this season. Her streak of 11 matches with a double-double to start a season marks the longest season-opening streak in Robert Morris history dating back to 2003. She leads the Colonials in kills (242) and digs (380).
A Historic Run
Robert Morris qualified for its 17th consecutive NEC Tournament last year, extending the conference's longest active streak. In the last 17 seasons, the Colonials have posted a winning record in league play; the longest such streak of any NEC member, past or present. Over that time span, RMU has gone 156-39 in conference play.
