No. 10 Colonials Ready to Take on Tigers

Robert Morris looks to protect undefeated CHA record

Pittsburgh, Pa. The No. 10 Robert Morris University women's hockey team, undefeated in College Hockey America (CHA) action, kicks off a long road stretch this weekend with a two-game series at RIT on Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. in Rochester, N.Y.
 
The Colonials (7-1-4, 3-0-1) are coming off a 1-0-1 weekend against Syracuse, the team selected to win the conference title prior to the start of this season. RIT (1-11-0, 0-2-0) is still in the hunt for its first league victory of the season.
 
Following several weeks of receiving votes nationally, the Colonials finally broke into the top 10 this week. They are riding a five-game unbeaten streak heading into this weekend's series with the Tigers.

Robert Morris is 9-10-3 all-time versus RIT. The Colonials have won three out of the last four games against the Tigers, including two shutout victories.

For the second time this season, senior Jessica Dodds was named CHA Goalie of the Week. Dodds ranks 10th in the nation in save percentage (.944) and 12th in goals against average (1.60).
 
Getting It Done
Sophomore defenseman Maggie LaGue leads the nation in blocked shots (42). Junior defenseman Katherine Murphy fills the No. 3 spot with 36 blocked shots. LaGue is tied for second in the nation in power-play assists (six) and tied for fourth in power-play points (seven).

Sophomore defenseman Kirsten Welsh has scored a goal in four of the last six games, including a team-leading two game-winning tallies. Redshirt junior Brittany Howard has posted a point in 10 of 12 games on the young season, including seven of the Colonials' last eight. Freshman Jaycee Gebhard has posted a point for RMU in all but three outings. Freshman Aneta Ledlova has posted a point in three of RMU's last four games.
 
Milestone Watch
Head coach Paul Colontino is seven wins away from his 100th career victory as head coach of the Robert Morris University women's hockey team. Redshirt junior forward Brittany Howard is two points shy of her 100th career point.
