Colonials Return Home for Friday Night Clash

Moon Township, Pa. - After four weeks on the road, Robert Morris University women's lacrosse returns home to face Delaware State on Friday night at Joe Walton Stadium.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Delaware State's offense averages 6.80 goals per game while giving up 18.50 goals per game. The Hornets only average 16.6 shots per game but do have a .410 shooting percentage and .807 SOG percentage. The Hornets average 5.0 caused turnovers per game and pick up 13.1 ground balls per game. Friday's game is the final game of the season for Delaware State.

The Colonials lead the all-time series with Delaware State 1-0 after a 20-5 victory on the road last season. (3g, 2a) from junior midfielder Corey Karwacki and at least one point from 14 players.

The Colonials split a road trip to Michigan with a 5-4 loss at Detroit before picking up a 19-14 win at Central Michigan. Bailey Skubon recorded an NEC-best 5 caused turnovers in the loss at Detroit, tied for 2nd-most in a single-game in RMU history. Corey Karwacki tied a career-high with seven points on 4 goals and 3 assists vs. CMU.

Delaware State (2-8)
The Hornets are coming off an 18-4 loss to LIU Brooklyn. Delaware State and LIU traded scores in the first minute of the game before the Blackbirds posted 11 straight goals to run away with the victory. Lauren Perry scored twice in the loss, while Iman Hassan and Kayla Yurkanin scored the other two goals. Rhian Sellers was in net for Delaware State.

NEC WEEKLY HONORS
Sophomore midfielder Dana Davis earned NEC Defensive Player of the Week & freshman Bailey Skubon is the NEC Rookie of the Week. Davis was a force on the defensive end collecting 10 ground balls while causing six turnovers in last week's two outings. In RMU's 19-14 win over Central Michigan on Sunday, Davis recorded five ground balls and caused four turnovers. Skubon put up a strong defensive effort as the Colonials battled but fell to Detroit 5-4 on Friday. The freshman caused five turnovers in the contest, tying her for the most by an NEC player this season. The five caused turnovers also ranked her second on RMU's all-time single-game list. Skubon sits in a three-way tie on the Colonials with seven caused turnovers this season.

FORCING TURNOVERS
As a team this season, the Colonials rank 19th in the NCAA in caused turnovers and first in the NEC averaging 10.00 per game. 

(GROUND) BALL SO HARD
Dana Davis is second in the NEC and eighth in the nation in ground balls per game, averaging 3.63

WINNING WAYS
The Class of 2015 seniors departed with 36 wins to their credit, the winningest class in program history. The Class of 2016 has been a part of 31 victories thus far, needing 5 more wins this season to tie that record.

Dana Davis, Kerri Sayrafe and Brittany Byerly (twice) have each scored five points in a game so far this season for the Colonials.

The Colonials have ten freshman and eleven first-year players on the roster.  Eight of the eleven have seen game time, including goalkeepers Sarah Arnold and Becky Schoenecker. Kerri Sayrafe, Maggie Stella and Sophia Eureka have each scored a goal, with Sayrafe recording a hat trick & five-point game vs. St. Bonaventure.
