First Place Colonials Travel to SFU

Robert Morris in three-way tie for first place in the NEC

Moon Township, Pa. - Robert Morris University women's lacrosse visits in-state rival Saint Francis on Friday. The Colonials are 7-6 overall with a 3-1 Northeast Conference record, in a three-way tie for first in the league with Bryant and Wagner.

LAST TIME OUT
Robert Morris University women's lacrosse notched its third win in Northeast Conference play, ending Bryant University's seven-game winning streak with a 10-7 road victory. Jessica Karwacki led the Colonials with three goals and an assist, to go with six draw controls. Corey Karwacki posted a goal and three assists for a four-point game of her own, while Dana Davis and Emily Jamison each notched a pair of goals. Niki Grillon and Katie Breeze rounded out the scoring, with Grillon scoring one of the Colonials three man-up goals.

SCOUTING THE RED FLASH
Saint Francis holds a 4-9 record and is 1-3 in the NEC. The Flash were swept by Bryant and CCSU last weekend. Jessica Mazzur led SFU with four goals over the course of the weekend. Holly Lawrence leads the Flash with 30 goals and is second in total points with 31. Sarah Mahon ranks first in points with 38, second in goals with 26 and is tied for third in the NEC with 3.25 points per game.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Robert Morris leads the all-time series 10-1 and defeated Saint Francis 17-9 on home turf last season.

STRONG DEFENSE
As a team this season, the Colonials rank 1st in the NEC and 28th in the NCAA in caused turnovers averaging 9.08 per game.  The Colonials are also 1st in the NEC with a scoring defense of 9.54

(GROUND) BALL SO HARD
Dana Davis is second in the NEC and 17th in the nation in ground balls per game, averaging 2.92. Davis is also fourth in the NEC in caused turnovers, averaging 1.46 per game, 57th in the NCAA.

WINNING WAYS
The Class of 2015 seniors departed with 36 wins to their credit, the winningest class in program history. The Class of 2016 has been a part of 35 victories thus far, needing 2 more wins this season to break that record.
