Highland Heights, Ky. – The
Robert Morris University women's soccer team watched its two-game win streak come to an end with a 2-0 loss at Northern Kentucky Sunday afternoon. The setback drops the Colonials record to 2-7 while the Norse improve to 5-4.
After a scoreless opening half, the host Norse took little time to establish a second half lead. Jessica Frey tallied her fourth score of the season on the first of two assists in the game from Hamblin just 51 seconds after the intermission ended. The Norse extended that lead in the 50th minute, Hamblin settin up Erin Sutton this time.
Makenzie Shearson had the start in net and finished with five saves. Northern Kentucky keeper Emily Lohmann was called upon to make three saves to earn the clean sheet.
The Colonials wrap up non-conference play Thursday, Nov. 22, when they travel to Baltimore, Md., for a 7:00 match against the UMBC Retrievers.
