Pittsburgh, Pa. – Four consecutive goals helped the No. 7

Brittany Howard extended her current point streak to a career-high 12 games with two assists. The two helpers increased her career total to 72 assists, and elevated her to first place on the all-time individual career assist list at Robert Morris.

Five different goal scorers helped Robert Morris to Saturday's win. Freshman
Jaycee Gebhard increased her goals total to a team-leading 14 on the season with a game-tying tally in the first period. Gebhard ended the day with a multi-point effort on one goal and one assist. Senior captain
Rikki Meilleur, junior assistant captain Amana Pantaleo, and sophomore
Amber Rennie each scored a goal in the second period.

Senior
Maeve Garvey, junior
Jessica Gazzola, sophomore
Maggie LaGue, and junior
Katherine Murphy all chipped in with one assist apiece. Garvey helped pad the Colonials lead late in the game with a goal in the final frame. Fellow upperclassman, senior
Mikaela Lowater, also tabbed a multi-point effort with two assists.  Senior goaltender
Jessica Dodds recorded 17 saves.

"It starts with all 20 players and our goalies," Gebhard said of the successful team effort to capture the win. "Everybody's working hard all the time in practices and in games. From blocking shots to, even like coach says, just one shift at a time, and it works whenever we get out there."

Robert Morris earned the power-play goal it was working for all weekend in the third period on a wrist shot from the point by Garvey to put the home team ahead, 5-2, at 15:25. Lindenwood earned its third power-play chance of the game in the waning minutes of the final frame, but could not convert, as the score ended in a three-goal win for RMU.

Pantaleo's goal opened the offensive flood gates for Robert Morris in the second stanza. At 12:16, Meilleur tapped in her third goal of the season to put the Colonials up by two. Forty seconds later, Rennie poked one through right in front, and increased the Robert Morris lead to three. With less than two minutes to go before the second intermission, Lindenwood responded with the first power-play goal of the series and reduced the Colonials' lead to two heading into the locker room.

Midway through the second period, Pantaleo was left wide open in the slot and unleashed a one timer that went straight to the back of the net and helped the Colonials to their first lead on the weekend. Pantaleo's tally to take a 2-1 advantage was her sixth goal in the last seven games.

For the second consecutive game, Lindenwood struck first. Just over five minutes into the opening frame, freshman Courtney Ganske took a shot from the right point as multiple Lions defenders screened Dodds, which allowed the puck to sail right past the senior goaltender.

The Colonials failed to convert on their first power play of the day in the first period, but Gebhard tied the game with a top shelf shot on a rebound off Lindenwood freshman goalie Morgan Skinner at 10:47.

Next up, the Colonials face a four-game road swing, starting with a CHA series at Mercyhurst on Friday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m.
