Colonials Set for Crusaders Clash

Pittsburgh, Pa. - Robert Morris University men's hockey looks to bounce back in an Atlantic Hockey conference series with Holy Cross at Colonials Arena. RMU is one of five teams in Atlantic Hockey that enters the weekend with four points in the conference standings. Holy Cross has six points and is tied with Air Force and Army for first place.

RIVALRY RETURNS
Robert Morris will face off with Keystone State rival Penn State after a season hiatus. The Colonials host the Nittany Lions at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh on Friday, December 8 at 7:00pm. Penn State hosts RMU at Pegula Ice Arena in University Park on December 9 at 7:00pm. Tickets for the game at PPG Paints Arena are on sale, beginning at 10:00am Friday (Nov. 3).

LAST TIME OUT
Robert Morris suffered its first sweep since the fall of 2014 last weekend in a home-and-home series with Ohio State. Luke Lynch, Timmy Moore and Daniel Mantenuto scored in a 5-3 loss in Columbus, Francis Marotte making 40 saves. Alex Tonge scored the lone goal in Saturday's 3-1 loss in Pittsburgh. Andrew Pikul made 37 saves in his seventh career start, second of the season.

ALL-TIME SERIES
The Colonials lead the all-time series 10-5-1 with just six of those games played at RMU; Robert Morris is 4-2 at home. The last meeting between the teams was a first round playoff series in Pittsburgh last March, RMU winning 6-3 and 3-2 to advance to the Atlantic Hockey semifinals. The Colonials have won three straight in the series, with the last loss (4-3) coming January 27, 2017.

LONE STAR LEADING SCORER
Brady Ferguson is the NCAA's active career scoring leader. After posting the fifth-highest scoring season in NCAA men's hockey with 58 points, Ferguson is the lone returner out of that Top 5 group. The Carrollton, Texas native has three goals and three assists for six points in five games this season.

50 MISSION CAP
Brady Ferguson reached a milestone in the season opener at Niagara, scoring a pair to reach the 50 career goal mark. Ferguson is just the fifth player in RMU history to reach 50 career goals.

CLASS ACT
Brady Ferguson has been named one of twenty candidates for the Senior CLASS Award, presented to a student-athlete who excels in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

WATCH ME KICK, WATCH ME SAVE-SAVE
Sophomore goaltender Francis Marotte has been named to the Mike Richter Award watch list, the award presented yearly to the player deemed the best goaltender in men's Division I college hockey.

412 CREW
RMU's roster contains three players who call Pittsburgh home: Jacob Coleman (Moon Township), Alex Dagnal (McMurray) and Luke Lynch (Shaler).

LYNCH LIGHTS IT UP
Sophomore forward Luke Lynch has been lighting the lamp to the tune of five goals and an assist for the RMU goal-scoring lead. Lynch has goals in three of the last four games, four goals across those games. The Pittsburgh native is tied for 10th in scoring in Atlantic Hockey along with Mike Louria.

ROAD TO REVOLUTION
The Colonials all-access show is back for a third season, with episodes published on the first Thursday of the month throughout the season. 



HOLY CROSS GAME NOTES (.PDF)
David Berard is currently in his fourth season at Holy Cross, leading the Crusaders to a 14-15-7 overall record and an 11-10-7 mark in Atlantic Hockey in the 2016-2017 season. 

The Crusaders are the second-highest scoring team in Atlantic Hockey (21G-37A-58P) have several players on scoring streaks. Freshman Logan Ferguson has a point in each of his last four games and senior Scott Pooley has scored a goal in his last four outings and is riding a five-game point streak.

Pooley leads Atlantic Hockey in goal-scoring with seven goals and is tied for second in points with eight. Pooley is also first in the league with 1.17 points per game, has scored three power play goals, recorded a hat trick and tallied a game-winning goal.

Holy Cross played its first five games of the season on home ice, tying Mercyhurst in back to back contests to open the season before notching 4-3 and 5-0 wins over Bentley.

The Crusaders played a pair of Ivy League opponents last weekend, winning 5-3 over Dartmouth at home before suffering their first loss of the season in their first road game, 4-2 at Princeton.

Holy Cross has experience in the cage with Paul Berrafato. The senior from Williamsville, NY appeared in all 36 games last season and all six this season. Berrafato sports a 2.49 GAA and .909 save percentage for his career, a 2.27 GAA and .934 save percentage in the current season.
