Louisville, Ky. - Robert Morris University women's lacrosse came up short in a tight defensive battle with #18/19 Louisville, falling to the Cardinals 9-4 on Sunday afternoon at UofL Lacrosse Stadium.
Freshman goalkeeper
Katelyn Miller was the difference maker in the game, making 11 saves and holding the Louisville offense at bay. The Cardinals are averaging more than 13 goals per game this season.

Miller made 8 saves in an impressive first half, including a save at the first half buzzer. The Cardinals opened the scoring with a goal by Meghan Siverson, before freshman midfielder
Annie Sachs tied the game at 1. Louisville got another goal from Siverson before Hannah Koloski and Heidi Smith each added one before the halftime break.

Sophomore
Maggie Stella struck first in the second half for her third goal of the season before the Cardinals went on a 3-0 run to take a 7-2 lead.

Stella came back to score a man up goal on the following possession after a caused turnover made by junior
Dana Davis. RMU and Louisville traded goals in the final ten minutes, with the Cardinals answering the Colonials strikes. Sachs tallied her second of the game and fifth of the season with under four minutes to play. Louisville's Siverson, Koloski and Smith each finished with a hat trick.

In addition to 11 saves, Miller collected five ground balls. Sachs chipped in three ground balls and two caused turnovers and Davis posted three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Senior
Megan Wolfgang recorded a pair of caused turnovers and ground balls as well.
Louisville led the Colonials 9-8 in draw controls, 16-14 in caused turnovers and 25-17 in ground balls. The Cardinals also held a 31-17 shot advantage.
Up next, the Colonials (0-2) return to Joe Walton Stadium for their first home game of the season, taking on Central Michigan University at 12:00pm on Saturday, February 18.
