Moon Township, Pa. – The Robert Morris University women's lacrosse team opens its home slate this Saturday, February 18 at 12:00pm against Central Michigan University.
The Colonials are 0-2 but have put together back-to-back solid defensive performances in the opening two games of the season. Senior defender
Megan Wolfgang is among the nation's best in both ground balls and caused turnovers per game. Robert Morris leads the NCAA in caused turnovers per game, averaging 18 per game so far this season.
A pair of freshmen have made a splash in the opening games. Rookie
Katelyn Miller posted a career-high 11 saves against #18 Louisville and collected five ground balls as well. Midfielder
Annie Sachs racked up six points in her collegiate debut with two goals and four assists. Sachs scored another pair of goals in RMU's 9-4 loss at Louisville, as did sophomore
Maggie Stella.

Robert Morris University women's lacrosse was selected third in the Northeast Conference preseason coaches poll, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
NEC coaches tabbed perennial power Bryant as the unanimous NEC women's lacrosse favorite this season. Robert Morris was chosen third, behind Wagner and ahead of Sacred Heart in fourth and Mount St. Mary's in the fifth spot. The coaches picked Central Connecticut to finish sixth with Saint Francis U and LIU Brooklyn rounding out the eight-team field. Bryant and Wagner have combined to win the last three NEC titles.

Dana Davis from a Colonial squad that qualified for the NEC Tournament for a third straight season. Wolfgang, a senior, ranked second on the Colonials with 20 caused turnovers and third with 24 ground balls. Davis did it all for RMU last season, collecting a team-high 52 ground balls, while placing second in goals (26), assists (8) and draw controls (28), and third in points (34). She finished second in the NEC with 3.06 ground balls per game.
SERIES HISTORY
The lone meeting between RMU and the Chips came in Grand Rapids last season.
Katie Breeze was one of two Colonials to score four goals in Robert Morris' 19-14 victory.
