Charlottesville, Va. – A slow start in the first period stymied the
Robert Morris University men's lacrosse team's comeback against No. 18/18 Virginia, as the Colonials fell to the Cavaliers, 13-7, Tuesday night in Klockner Stadium.
The loss halted Robert Morris' (8-4, 4-0 NEC) winning streak at four games, while UVA (8-5, 0-3 ACC) won its third game in the Cavaliers' last four outings.

Shane Majewski picked up five ground balls apiece. Heger made 19 saves and was credited with his first career assist.
The Colonials trailed the Cavaliers by six heading into the fourth. The teams traded goals back and forth before time expired and RMU ended up falling to UVA by a six-goal deficit.
Robert Morris had momentum heading into the third, but it was all Virginia, as the Cavaliers shut out the Colonials, 3-0, in the third frame.
After they fell behind, 6-0, in the first, RMU bounced back and outscored UVA, 4-1, in the second period. The Colonials scored three consecutive goals to close the first half, and trailed by three heading into intermission.
RMU picked up a season-high 48 ground balls against Virginia this evening. The Cavaliers narrowly edged the Colonials in shots on goal, 32-38.
The Colonials take a break from action this weekend, and return to the turf Tuesday, April 18 for a 7 p.m. faceoff with Canisius under the lights of Joe Walton Stadium to conclude non-conference action.
