Bowling Green, Ohio - The
Robert Morris University women's soccer team fell to Bowling Green in non-conference play this evening, 2-1, from Mickey Cochrane Stadium.
While Bowling Green (5-2, 0-0 MAC) outshot Robert Morris (2-6, 0-0 NEC), 19-8, over the course of the contest, the Colonials held a 7-5 edge in attempts on goal.
The Falcons opened up the scoring in the 26th minute when Erica Hubert scored off assists from Sophia Barnes and Kristin Tveit. The hosts doubled their lead in the 46th minute when Skylar Fleak buried a chance from Maureen Kennedy.
RMU scored its lone goal in the 47th minute when
Kristina Kelley found the back of the net off a pass from
Jane Schleicher. The tally was Kelley's third of the campaign and Schleicher's second assist, giving them eight and 10 points on the season, respectively.
Schleicher led the Colonials with three shots on the evening.
Sydney Bruckner made three saves in the loss.
Robert Morris completes non-conference play on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 1:00 p.m against Fort Wayne.
