Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University track & field team christened its 2018 outdoor campaign Saturday by competing in the Cal U Early Bird Invitational in California, Pa.
The Colonials earned bronze in the 4x400-meter relay, finishing with a time of 4:15.72. Freshmen made up 75 percent of the squad, as
Sami Felton opened the race,
Nina Radisavljevic ran third and
Brooke Oldfin anchored the squad. Joining the trio was sophomore Eugenia Gil-Soriano, who ran the second leg.

In the 800-meter, Radisavljevic earned fifth by posting a time of 2:24.18. Also competing in the event for RMU was freshman
Tara Richardson and senior
Rachel Crane. Richardson crossed the finish line with a time of 2:32.56 to finish 18th, while Crane finished one spot behind at 2:33.20.
In the 1,500-meter run, another rookie took home the top time for Robert Morris, as freshman
Martha Gardner claimed seventh with a time of 4:55.89. In the same event, Felton recorded a time of 5:01.11.
Senior
Maggie Prorok finished 16th in the 5,000-meter run, finishing at 19:4.53, an event that also saw senior
Madeline Menzie post a time of 19:58.51 and junior
Brynn Adams clock in at 20:19.19.
The Colonials return to action by taking part in the Vertklasse Meeting. Competition in High Point, N.C., spans Friday, April 6, and Saturday, April 7.
