Washington, D.C. - The
Robert Morris University men's soccer team defeated Howard, 1-0, in its final non-conference contest this afternoon.
Redshirt senior goalkeeper
Winter Fondi posted his ninth career shutout and third of this season with a five-save day. His best stop came in the 54th minute when he denied Victor Guirma on a penalty kick, following that up with a save on Joshua Kalubyaka's rebound attempt.
Senior midfielder
Kai Olguin tallied his first career goal in the 78th minute, netting the winner in style as he converted a bicycle kick inside the 18. Fellow fourth-year
Zac Sherman earned the assist, flicking it to Olguin on a throw-in.
Robert Morris opens Northeast Conference (NEC) action on Friday, Sept. 28 at 3:00 p.m. when it travels to Bryant.
