Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University track & field team had its final tuneup before the 2019 Northeast Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday by taking a limited number of student-athletes to the Red Flash Open in Loretto, Pa.
Senior
Sam Buck took the individual crown in the hammer throw to lead a strong showing of field events for RMU. On her third toss of the afternoon, Buck recorded a distance of 44.80 meters. Buck will enter the 2019 NEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships as the No. 2 seed in the event thanks to a toss of 48.70 meters at the Towson Invitational earlier this season.
In the long jump, freshman
Tara Gologram won the individual title with a leap of 5.58 meters. The distance was better than Maris Seto of Duquesne (5.35 meters) and Elizabeth Shodiya of Mount St. Mary's (5.31 meters) and is a personal record for Gologram. She'll enter the 2019 NEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships as the fourth seed in the long jump.

In the triple jump, junior
Ivanna Jones garnered silver thanks to a leap of 10.75 meters, trailing only Seto, who won the individual crown with a leap of 11.82 meters. In the high jump, senior
Nicole Florio finished fourth by clearing 1.47 meters.
Also in the hammer throw, freshman
Taylor Mears recorded a heave of 29.81 meters while also recording a throw of 29.71 meters in the discus. In the javelin, sophomore
Harley Stuebgen finished sixth at 32.85 meters, while freshman
Paige Bonin finished eighth at 31.77 meters.
The 2019 NEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships are set for Saturday, May 4, and Sunday, May 5, in New Britain, Conn., with Central Connecticut serving as host.
