Moon Township, Pa. – The first-ever game against a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponent, a pair of non-conference home games against Kentucky State and Dayton and a full slate of Northeast Conference contests highlights the 2019
Robert Morris University football.
The Colonials will open the 2019 campaign Thursday, August 29, at the University at Buffalo. It marks the first time in program history RMU will play an opponent from the FBS.
Robert Morris returns home to Joe Walton Stadium for its next two games after taking on the Bulls, as the Colonials host Kentucky State Saturday, Sept. 7, at 1:00 p.m. before welcoming Dayton for a 3:00 p.m. kickoff Saturday, Sept. 14. The game against the Flyers is part of RMU's Homecoming festivities.

A four-game road trip follows after hosting Dayton, as Robert Moris will visit VMI (Sept. 21) and Youngstown State (Sept. 28) before opening Northeast Conference actin Saturday, Oct. 12, with a Noon kickoff against Saint Francis in Loretto, Pa. The Colonials conclude their road trip Saturday, Oct. 19, with a Noon game at Wagner.
Following a four-game road trip, RMU opens a three-game homestand Saturday, Oct. 26, against Bryant. The Colonials will also host Long Island University (Nov. 2) and Duquesne (Nov. 9) before traveling to Central Connecticut (Nov. 16). The 2019 finale comes at Joe Walton Stadium Saturday, Nov. 23, with a Noon kickoff against Sacred Heart.

The 2019 campaign will mark the second season for
Bernard Clark Jr. as head coach of the Colonials. In his first season at the helm in 2018, junior tight end
Matthew Gonzalez was named to the
Associated Press Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-America Second Team. He became just the fourth member of the Colonials in program history to garner the honor.
In 2018, Gonzalez finished with 40 receptions for 642 yards and hauled in 12 touchdown catches, an RMU single-season school record. He led the NEC and ranked 10th in the nation in touchdown and will enter his senior season in 2019 ranked seventh all-time in program history for touchdown receptions (13) and 14th in career caches (62).
