PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Robert Morris University women's hockey team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2020-21 season, head coach Paul Colontino announced today.
The Colonials will play a 20-game slate of exclusively conference matchups consisting of four games each against their five College Hockey America rivals culminating in the 2021 CHA Tournament the first weekend of March.
RMU opens up the 2021 campaign on Friday, November 20 when they host Penn State at Clearview Arena for the first game of an opening weekend homestead against the Nittany Lions, with the rubber match coming the following night in Moon Township.
They remain home the following weekend for the opening leg of a Saturday/Sunday series against Mercyhurst in what will be the first matchup between the two schools since the Lakers knocked off RMU in the CHA Title game a year ago.
A trip to St. Charles, Mo. the first weekend of December for a pair of road contests against Lindenwood will see the Colonials make their first of three overnight trips this season before retuning home for a two-game homestead against the visiting Orange of Syracuse to finish out the stretch before winter break.
Winners of their last four against the Lions, RMU swept Lindenwood a season ago and will look to keep that form rolling in 2021 in what will be a densly-packed CHA schedule.
Following the holiday hiatus, RMU gets back into the thick of things with a Friday/Sunday split against RIT on January 17 before a quick turnaround will see them head to State College for a pair of clashes Friday and Saturday evening at Pegula Ice center.
Three out of four at home follow for the Colonials, who close out the season series against Lindenwood with a pair at Clearview the last weekend in January before a final pair of matchups against RIT a week later.
A bus ride to upsate New York for their final overnight series of the year against the Orange rounds out the schedule before the Colonials play their home finale February 26 in one final series against the Lakers.
