In A Groove - Senior
Jon Williams has found his range from deep since the Colonials have returned to action. In RMU's recently completed three-game road trip, Williams knocked down 60.9 percent (14-for-23) of his attempts from international waters, tying a career high with five three-pointers @ Marshall (12/20/20) and again @ Purdue Fort Wayne (12/26/20). In the early going of the 2020-21 campaign, Williams ranks second in the Horizon League in three-point field goal percentage (.516), trailing only Jarred Godfrey (.519) of the Mastodons. Williams owns a career three-point field goal percentage of 41.2 percent (177-for-430), which currently is tied for sixth in program history with former forward Aaron Thomas (2000-04).
Â
A Streak Snapped - In shooting an even 50 percent (32-for-64) from the field in an 87-82 setback @ Purdue Fort Wayne (12/27/20) that wrapped up a two-game set with the Mastodons, RMU had a winning streak of 12 snapped when converting at least 50 percent of its shots from the field. The streak dated back to the 2018-19 season. Overall in 11 seasons under RMU Pat Gallagher Head Coach
Andrew Toole, RMU owns a record of 54-7 (.885) when turning the trick. On the other end of the spectrum, the Colonials won just their sixth game in 64 occasions under Toole when allowing 80+ points thanks to a 102-88 victory @ Purdue Fort Wayne (12/26/20). In that game RMU shot 60 percent (39-for-65) from the floor.
Â
Start Me Up - Guard
Jon Williams opened his senior season much the same way he has the previous three: as a member of the starting lineup. Williams has started each of his 107 career games at RMU, a school record for consecutive starts. Williams is just three starts shy of cracking the top five all-time in program for career starts, as former guards Forest Grant (1980-84) and Tony Lee (2004-08) are tied for fourth with 110 starts each. The school record for starts is held by Velton Jones (2003-08) with 125. Williams is also five dimes shy of entering the top 10 in program history for assists, owning 429 for his career.
Â
The Rattler - Don't blink or you might miss one. Senior forward
AJ Bramah is arguably the most accomplished dunker in program history in his year plus with the Colonials. Through five games of the 2020-21 season, Bramah already owns 12 throw downs on the year and has pushed his career total in dunks to 57. Dating to the 2019-20 season, Bramah has scored in double figures in 10 consecutive games, 33 of his last 34 contests and 34 times in 38 career games at RMU.
