PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Robert Morris University women's soccer team dropped a Sunday afternoon matinee with the Oakland Golden Grizzlies 3-0 at the North Athletic Complex.
Haleigh Finale led RMU with two total shots in the loss.
Oakland managed to get out to a 2-0 lead in the first, earning goals from Sophie Wilsey and Brooke Honeycutt to give themselves a solid cushion heading into the back half of action.Â
Finale nearly opened the scoring in the 13' with a great run through the middle of the pitch, however the sophomore's shot struck the post and stayed out as the Colonials continued to search for offense.
Another chance from Finale in the 15' was saved by Oakland keeper Noemi Stadelmann to cap off a scoreless first for the Colonials.Â
The chances started to come in the second for RMU, however they once again failed to break through. Kayla Veloso-Lima pushed her shot from just outside the box wide before Kaoru Hayashi just missed on a free kick moments later in what proved to be two of the best looks of the second for the Colonials.
The Golden Grizzlies tacked on a third goal in the 78' as they went on to deal RMU a home loss.
