PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Robert Morris women's soccer team earned its sixth point of the season Sunday with a 0-0 draw against IUPUI at the North Athletic Complex.
Gabriella Lecuona led RMU with three shots on target while keeper Isabella Bohlen earned her second clean sheet of the year as the Colonials improve to 1-5-3 in Horizon League action.
An evenly played first saw both squads work to create momentum through the midfield, a task made harder by excellent defensive structure on both sides.
The defensive midfield for RMU in particular proved a stingy challenge for the Jaguars offense as Angela Van Damia and Chelsea Kingston stepped up to close off lanes and prevent IUPUI from gaining the offensive third of the field with any kind of speed or momentum.
Offensively, the trio of Gabriella Lecuona, Kayla Veloso-Lima and Haleigh Finale created some excellent chances using their speed, however a breakthrough did not come in the first as Jags keeper AP Woodall managed to make saves on all four RMU shots on goal to keep the first half a scoreless affair.
The close calls continued into the second for RMU. Despite enjoying 57% possession on the day, Woodall and the IUPUI back line continued to hold firm and keep RMU from converting on their advantage.
Woodall produced saves on Lecuona and Emily Rocco to start the second, while at the other end an aggressive Bohlen came up with a few huge stops of her own including a point-blank chant from Elizabeth Bueckers in the box.
Lecuona made several nice runs in the extra frame, feeding a number of crosses into the box that despite their quality failed to connect with a Colonial.
Sheridan Reid's last gasp effort in the 104' on Woodall beat the leaping keeper but struck the crossbar and stayed out as both teams settled for a point.

QUOTABLES
"Just playing quicker and more as a team, playing more like a family has been huge for us. Everyone plays together and communicates now, so it's nice to see everyone play like a family, play together." - Gabriella Lecuona
"I thought that was probably our best performance today. We've talked a lot about trying to get a full 90-minute performance this season. We've had 45 here or there, but hadn't really put together a great 90. Today was actually 110 minutes of quality soccer working from start to finish, I think some of the best soccer we've played." - Head Coach Chris Shaw
