OVERLAND PARK, Ks. - Robert Morris University seniors Nick Jenny and Nick Prkusic were each selected as candidates for the 2021 Senior CLASS Award^®, the committee announced today.

Full Release:

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ^®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as a NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. The complete list of candidates follows this release.

The duo have represented RMU hockey with distinction since arriving in Moon Township as freshmen in 2018, excelling both on the ice and in their local communities through involvement in student leadership organizations as well as volunteer work and participation in youth hockey programs in the local area.

Both Jenny and Prkusic were nominated as Co-Captains by their teammates prior to the start of the 2021 season, and have been a driving force behind the on-ice success of the #19 Colonials this year.  Prkusic is tied for second on the team as well as all of Atlantic Hockey in points with 20 in 19 games, while Jenny leads all AHA blueliners offensively in both goals (six) and points (17).

The 15 candidates will be narrowed to ten finalists later this month. Those ten names will then be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character, and competition.

The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2021 NCAA Men's Frozen Final Four^® in April.
