CATCHING UP

The Colonials dropped a road matchup in the Windy City last week against the UIC Flames, 3-1. 

Gabriella Lecuona scored her first goal of the season to cut it down to a one-goal Flames lead in the 78', however a third tally from UIC's Savannah Jackson in the 85' put the prospect of a Colonials comeback out of reach.

• The Colonials are coming off of a 3-1 road loss against UIC a week ago and currently sit at 1-3 overall. 
• RMU has scored five goals this season, led by Kaouru Hayashi with two. Haleigh Finale, Sheridan Reid, and Lecuona each have one apiece.  
• Hayshi leads RMU in overall scoring as well with five points, while Courtney Hurey picked up her first point of the season last week with an assist.  
• Sixteen Colonials saw game action for Robert Morris last week against UIC and had a season-high eight different players record at least one shot on target. 
• Hayashi leads RMU in total shots for the season with nine. 
• Head Coach Chris Shaw earned his first career win at the helm of RMU two weeks ago against SFU.  
• RMU sports a balanced roster in terms of class distribution, consisting on five freshman, seven sophomores, seven total juniors and three seniors. 
• Shaw takes over in his first year at the helm of Robert Morris in 2021. Shaw spent the last six years as the head coach at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), compiling an overall record of 66-48-9 (.573), the winningest coach in program history. 
• The Colonials will play their 2021 home schedule away from campus in 2021, hosting games at the indoor facilities of the SouthPoint Fieldhouse.
• Amongst their new Horizon League foes, the Colonials have never faced Detroit Mercy, UIC, or Oakland, before, though they did face off against the Titans in pre-season play a year ago. Youngstown State has been a familiar opponent for RMU as the two squads have squared off 38 times overall and at least once in each of the previous nine seasons.  

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS

PFW sits at 2-1 overall, including a 1-1 mark in Horizon League play after the cancellations of their scheduled matches against Detroit Mercy and Green Bay were cancelled. 

They're coming off of a 3-2 victory against Cleveland State and are led by senior Kailyn Wade who paces them in both goals and points.
