PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Robert Morris University women's soccer team dropped an afternoon matchup against the Milwaukee Panthers 2-0 Sunday at the North Athletic Complex.
The loss drops RMU to 4-5-1 on the season and ends their unbeaten streak at four games.
Though RMU had some dangerous looks in the first, Milwaukee managed to strike first just 6:21 into the game when Haley Johnson finished off a cross into the box from Gaby Schwartz to put the Panthers up early.
Kayla Veloso-Lima almost tied it up minutes later off a broken play, breaking into the box for a race to the ball with MU keeper Allie Strottman, however Strottman managed to win the foot race and cover up.
Veloso-Lima tested Strottman again from just inside the box, however the keeper was once again up to the task.
Jelena Server doubled the MU lead in the 48', while RMU continued to search for their first goal of the afternoon as the Panthers found themselves with a two-goal cushion.
Though Haleigh Finale and Emily Rocco both managed to get shots off, neither was able to crack Strottman as Milwaukee held on for the 2-0 win.
