Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU volleyball team fell to Wright State at home 0-3. The Colonials overall record is now 9-20 (.320) during the 2022 season, and 2-15 (.118) in the Horizon League.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Off to a good start, RMU pushed to a 3-1 lead early in the first set.
Abby Ryan earned a kill, and the Colonials collected two more points off errors by the Raiders. Later on, in the set, the home team fell behind 5-9.
Kaitlyn Brown and
Abby Ryan both spiked down kills and
Macy McNamara provided an ace to tie up the score 10-10. Once again
Abby Ryan scored back-to-back kills and then senior outside hitter
Alyssa Hudak joined the action, taking the lead 14-13. Hudak tied up the score 17-17 a few serves later with a kill. As the back and forth action continued, Wright State was ahead 19-20 before
Abby Ryan produced two more kills to give RMU the advantage 21-20. The Raiders went on to score five of the next six points and win the set 22-25. Junior outside hitter

Wright State managed to stay ahead throughout the entirety of the second set.
Allena Carmody and
Kaitlyn Brown led the team in digs with six and five, respectfully. The Raiders took the second set 12-25.
The Colonials battled and stayed within two points up until the score was 9-11 in set three. Robert Morris defended 15 digs compared to Wright State's 10. Late in the set, head coach
Danny Doherty successfully won another challenge. He's now won three of his last five challenges. The Raiders ended up winning the third set 17-25.

In five career games now against the Raiders,
Allena Carmody owns 45 digs after showing 14 on the stat sheet tonight.
Abby Ryan across her four games vs. Wright State has produced 39 kills and
Alyssa Hudak owns 30 in the same time frame.
Kaitlyn Brown provided 17 assists on the night, along with 11 digs. The freshman setter surpassed 600 assists on the season. With four kills, junior outside hitter
Emma Brown now holds over 250 career kills as a Colonial. As a team defensively, RMU eclipsed 1,500 digs on the season after their match with the Raiders.
UP NEXT
RMU will finish out the season at home tomorrow in the UPMC Events Center. They play Northern Kentucky (11/12) at 4:00 p.m. Tomorrow there'll be a post-match senior day celebration. The team will be honoring their lone senior outside hitter
