Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU Department of Athletics announced Thursday the Missy Sunseri RMU Lacrosse Scholarship, which is to be given annually to support a women's lacrosse student-athlete.
The Missy Sunseri RMU Lacrosse Scholarship has been established to ensure the competitive success of the women's lacrosse program and to elevate the student-athlete experience of both current and future student-athletes with the Colonials. At the discretion of the head women's lacrosse coach, a student-athlete or student-athletes within the program who display a financial need or deserve the award based on merit will have access to the scholarship.

Katrina Silva said. "Missy was a player of few words but huge actions, and it isn't surprising that she would provide RMU women's lacrosse with a gift that represents her experience as a student-athlete. In addition to being a huge boost for future Colonials, this gift is changing the game for our program. We're forever grateful for her love of our university."
Sunseri is a 2011 graduate of RMU with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. She joined the Colonials after helping Mt. Lebanon win four consecutive WPIAL championships and in 30 games at RMU scored 60 points courtesy of 35 goals and 25 assists. Sunseri is one of 15 student-athletes in program history to average 2.00 points per game and also compiled career totals of 38 ground balls, 50 draw controls and 18 caused turnovers.
"It's important to reward student-athletes who are working hard and representing the program the right way both on the field and off of it," Sunseri said. "RMU women's lacrosse was a key part of my development as both a student and an athlete, and it's great to be able to contribute and help out the program."

ticketing@rmu.edu. The Colonials open their 2023 season Friday, Feb. 10, at Ohio State, with the home opener at Joe Walton Stadium set for Saturday, Feb. 25, at Noon against Bucknell.
