Pittsburgh, Pa. –
The Robert Morris University men's lacrosse team's attempted comeback fell short during Saturday afternoon's contest against the visiting Bucknell Bison. The loss at Joe Walton Field moves the Colonials to 0-2 on the season.
Â
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Down 5-1 in the early portion of the first quarter, a failed clearing attempt by Drew Wellington of Bucknell led to a ground ball pickup by
Dan Taddeo. With a swift pass and a shot under the keeper's right arm,
Taggart Clark scored his first of five goals on the day. This was followed within 9-seconds by a man-up goal by
Corson Kealey.
Â
After trailing 11-8 leading two minutes into the third quarter, RMU scored three consecutive goals at the hands of
Jake Boudreau,
Colton Lidstone, and Clarke tied the game at 11.
Although the Colonials came within one in the final 13 minutes of the game, a final Bucknell goal with 3:19 remaining, followed by an RMU penalty put the nail in the coffin for the game.
Â
BACK-TO-BACK HAT TRICKS
In three seasons with the Colonials,
Taggart Clark has scored eight goals. In the first two games of the 2022 season, Clark has tallied nine goals, producing back-to-back hat tricks against both Duke and Bucknell. His five-goals against Bucknell marks a new career-high for the seniors.

GET EXCITED, SASKATCHEWAN
Graduate-student
Jake Boudreau returned to Robert Morris to use his final year of eligibility before going to play for the Saskatchewan Rush. Against Bucknell, the Brampton, Ontario native had a goal, as well as five helpers to help the Colonials get back into the game.

Bo Columbus has been the main face-off specialist through two games in 2022. The freshman has gone 30-62 overall, with a 16-30 rate against Bucknell. Additionally, Columbus scored his first goal with the Colonials to open the scoring on Saturday.
