Moon Township, Pa. – On the eve of the 2022 Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend at Youngstown State, the RMU track & field team announced its 2022 outdoor slate Thursday, which includes seven competitions as part of the regular season.
The Colonials will christen their 2022 outdoor schedule Friday, March 25, and Saturday, March 26, in Raleigh, N.C., with the Raleigh Relays, which are hosted by North Carolina State. Another group of student-athletes will also take part in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational Saturday, March 26, at Gesling Stadium.
Also part of RMU's 2022 outdoor schedule are visits to West Virginia (4/2), George Mason (4/9), Bucknell (4/16-17) and Saint Francis U (4/30).
The Colonials will also host a meet for the second consecutive year with the Benson/Hodge Memorial Invitational Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23, at the RMU Island Sports Center. The meet is named in honor of former track & field head coaches Bennie Benson and Bill Hodge.

The Benson/Hodge Memorial Invitational at the RMU Island Sports Center will also be the first competition since the RMU Department of Athletics
announced a partnership with P3R, the engine behind Pittsburgh's greatest races. As part of the sponsorship, the track & field at the RMU Island Sports Center has been renamed the P3R Track & Field Complex and a complete resurfacing of the track took place during the summer of 2021.
The 2022 Horizon League Outdoor Championships are slated for May 6-8, 2022, in Rochester, Mich., on the campus of Oakland University. In their debut #HLTF Outdoor Championships last season in Youngstown, Ohio, the Colonials finished fifth, with
Estelle Katende (discus) and
Keturah Hunter (hammer throw) each claiming gold.

Bryan Delsite, who is in his second season leading the Colonials, RMU is set for the 2022 #HLTF Indoor Championships Saturday, Feb. 26, and Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS) on the campus of Youngstown State University.
