Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

RMU Comes Back to Win Against Bellarmine

The Colonial's five-goal run extends their win-streak to four games.

A three-goal fourth quarter by the Robert Morris University men's lacrosse team earned their fourth-straight win over Bellarmine on Saturday at Joe Walton Stadium. The win moves the Colonials to 6-4 on the season and 2-0 in ASUN conference play.

MOMENTS THAT MATTER
Midfielder Jake Boudreau opened the game's scoring. However, it would not take long for Bellarmine to take advantage of the atrocious weather conditions. Going on a three-goal run before Taggart Clark and Corson Kealey brought the game to a tie.

Back-and-fourth goal scoring for both teams carried all the way through the midway mark of the third quarter, where the Knights repeatedly held a two-goal lead over RMU.

That was until Owen Down scored his first career goal at the 3:46 mark of the third quarter to send the Colonials on a five-goal run to close out the game, eventually coming back to win 12-9.

CAREER-HIGH

Senior Dan Taddeo had a standout day for the Colonials, scoring a career-high six points and four-assists. Additionally, Taddeo had two goals and a caused-turnover, as well as a ground ball.

KEAL-ING IT
Corson Kealey is now riding a 19-game scoring streak, dating back to the beginning of the 2021 season. The graduate student scored two goals, dealt out an assist and reached a season-high nine shots on goal.

SCORING SOURCE
Seven separate RMU players scored in today's contest. Taggart Clark has scored a hat trick in five of his last six games and added another with a four-goal game today. Kealey and Taddeo each scored two on the day, while Owen Down, Will Johansen and Ben Starkey each netted one for the Colonials in today's victory.

GREAT GOALIES
Nate Randall and Ben Savick split time in net for RMU in the afternoon contest. In the first half of the game, Randall made two saves and allowed seven goals. In the second half, Savick stepped in and made seven saves while allowing only two goals.
