RMU Advances To 2022 MAC Championship Final

A 22-14 win over Youngstown State sends RMU to it's second-consecutive MAC Championship Final.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Robert Morris women's lacrosse team rebounded with grace against Youngstown State on Thursday afternoon at the CMU Lacrosse Stadium in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. With a 22-14 win over the Penguins, RMU will advance to the 2022 MAC Championship Final game to face Central Michigan.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
RMU put the petal to the metal for the first sixteen minutes of play, posting an eight-goal run in that time.

The second quarter consisted of more equal play, with each team taking turns at posting three-goal runs. YSU started to develop their offense before the half, outscoring RMU 7-6 by halftime. However, the established seven-goal lead allowed RMU to stay ahead.

Despite streaks of goals by the Penguins, as well as a six-goal performance from Natalie Calandra-Ryan, YSU could not hold off the explosive RMU offense.

MISSING HATS
Colleen Tifft dominated the RMU offense this afternoon, posting four goals against the Penguins. This is her second-consecutive four-goal game and her fourth hat trick this season. Gianna Anthony and Chelsea Coleman each had three games in the game as well. This was Coleman's first career hat trick as a member of the RMU women's lacrosse program.
